More and more people are looking into satellite direct TV. At least part of reason is because it seems the cable companies and gotten pretty full of themselves in recent years.
I remember when cable TV first came along. It was relatively inexpensive back then and the improvement over broadcast TV was dramatic. Plus, you had so many channels compared to what you could typically get on broadcast.
However, once the cable companies had everybody hooked, they started raising prices steadily until people are finding themselves paying $100, $150, $200 or more every month. If that's the situation with you and you’re fed up with paying outrageous cable bills you need to read the rest of this article. It's about satellite direct TV. Do you like the idea of having over 3500 channels from around the world available for free? Read on.
Although the big cable companies sure don't want you to find out about this, you can legally buy a program to load onto your computer that will let you watch satellite TV to your PC. Maybe you've heard of Skype or other "voice-over-Internet" programs that let you make telephone calls using your computer for free. Now you can do the same thing for television!
I don't pretend to know how the technology works, but I don't even know how a word processor works yet I use one all the time.
The early versions of Internet satellite TV were a little rough. So rough in fact that the initial PC services weren't a threat to anybody. The picture quality was poor, software was sketchy and the channel was limited. There wasn't any comparison to cable TV.
But all that has changed.
Like all technology, television over the PC has gotten cheaper even as it's gotten massively better. The picture and sound quality is excellent and the channel selection massive. On some services you have access to over 3500 channels, including premium movie channels and the best sports stations out there.
The almost unbelievable thing is the price. You do have to buy the software, but that's not expensive. Typically, it costs less than half of one month of basic cable. What does it cost after that? Zip. Nadda. That's right, nothing!
There are no ongoing subscription fees or monthly charges whatsoever. It's like having the best of cable television without having to pay an outrageous monthly bill ever again.
If you think that's too good to be true, I completely understand. I did too when I first heard about.
But then I remembered when my son was stationed overseas. We were able to use a voice-over-the-Internet program to talk to him computer to computer for as long as we wanted for free. As I said, Internet TV is the same thing is the same thing for television. It's not too good to be true, is just another benefit of the rapid advance of technology.
Imagine what you could do with the money are now spending on your cable or satellite TV service. In today's economic climate, it seems silly to keep paying the cable companies when you can enjoy even better service for free once you install the necessary software. It definitely makes sense to at least investigate the idea of satellite direct television.
Happy viewing.
